A British study in Progress in Neur-Psychopharmacology & Biological Psychiatry (February 2002) found that children with dyslexia and attention -deficit/hyperactivity disorder may find concentration easier when their diet is supplemented with the fatty acids omega-3 and gamma linolenic acid (GLA), the "good" omega-6. Cited in Vegetarian Times, May 2002.

A chemical in apples has even stronger anti-cancer properties than vitamin C, say researchers at Cornell University and Seoul National University. The powerhouse ingredient, the medical journal Lancet reports (January 12, 2002) is quercetin, a phytochemical (a plant chemical that contains protective, disease fighting compounds).
